Wednesday is a quiet day before a loud weekend in Knoxville. Kentucky-Tennessee week is officially on, and there is MACtion and SEC hoops to get you there. All times Central.
- Kentucky-Tennessee week starts now. The first CFP rankings came out Tuesday night: Kentucky is No. 6, Tennessee is No. 13. Kentucky at Tennessee is Saturday at 5:15 p.m. on ESPN. Jeremy already put the Kentucky Hat Guarantee on the Vols covering, so yes, the hat is on the line.
- Toledo at Sacramento State, 6 p.m., CBS Sports Network. Toledo is 6-2 and Sacramento State is 2-7. This is the best record on the Wednesday football board, so the Rockets need to look like it.
- Ball State at UMass, 6 p.m., ESPNU. Ball State is 3-5, UMass is 4-4. Not pretty, but it is football on a Wednesday, and we do not take that for granted.
- Central Michigan at Eastern Michigan, 6:30 p.m., ESPN2. Central Michigan is 3-5, Eastern Michigan is 4-5. A rivalry game in November with both teams fighting for bowl life. That is the MAC at its best.
- SE Louisiana at Auburn, 7 p.m., SEC Network+. Auburn men’s basketball opens its season. The Vols tipped off Tuesday with a 90-59 win over Wofford, so now we see what the rest of the SEC looks like.
