Commanders Score the Last 27 Points to Bury the Eagles 27-10, and Philadelphia Is 2-6

Five and a Fade final score card: Washington Commanders 27, Philadelphia Eagles 10 on Sunday Night Football

Philadelphia led 10-0 after one quarter Sunday night in Washington. Then the Commanders scored the last 27 points, won 27-10, and the Eagles are 2-6.

Saquon Barkley’s 3-yard touchdown run and a Jake Elliott field goal built the early lead. Washington answered with a 56-yard Drew Stevens field goal, tied it on Jayden Daniels’ 8-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs, and took the lead for good on a 39-yarder from Stevens with 19 seconds left in the half.

After that it was Stevens and the Washington defense. He added field goals of 25 and 42 yards to finish 4-for-4, and Rachaad White’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:52 left, plus Austin Ekeler’s two-point run, ended it.

  • Daniels: 16 of 29, 217 yards, 1 touchdown
  • Treylon Burks: 3 catches, 81 yards
  • Washington outgained Philadelphia 339-268
  • Tanner McKee: 23 of 34, 212 yards, 1 interception. The Eagles were sacked five times and turned it over twice.

Here’s the uncomfortable question: are the Eagles done? At 2-6 they would have to win almost every week the rest of the way just to get into the conversation, and they couldn’t score after the first quarter tonight. We say yes. Washington, at 2-4-1, at least has a pulse.

Washington closed as a 5.5-point favorite and covered by 11.5. We didn’t have a pick in this one, which, after the way our Sunday went, might be the best call we made all weekend.
