Broncos Score the Last 15 to Beat the Chiefs 28-24, and Our Chiefs -1.5 Falls Short

Kansas City led by 11 going into the fourth quarter in Denver. It didn’t last, and neither did our pick.

❌ Chiefs -1.5: Broncos 28, Chiefs 24. We needed Kansas City to win by 2 or more. Denver scored the last 15 points and won outright.

Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdown passes: 11 yards to Rashee Rice, a 73-yarder to Emmett Johnson, and 4 yards to Noah Gray late in the third quarter for a 24-13 lead. He finished 30-of-41 for 321 yards, and Johnson caught five balls for 128 yards.

Then Bo Nix went to work. He hit Nate Adkins for a 2-yard touchdown with 8:55 left and found Jaylen Waddle for the two-point conversion to make it 24-21. Jonah Coleman scored the winner on a 5-yard run with 1:56 to go. Nix finished 20-of-32 for 222 yards and two touchdowns.

The Broncos are 6-2 and in first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs fall to 5-2. Brutal. We’ll get ’em next week.

That closes our Sunday NFL card at 2-4: the Steelers and Jaguars cashed, and the Jets, Vikings, Bengals and Chiefs didn’t. Every result goes on the record. Follow along live on X @fiveandafade.
