Titans fans, there’s a new rule in Nashville: cheer against the Chicago Bears every week. And if you can stomach it, cheer against the Titans too.
Here’s the math. Tennessee traded All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick to Chicago for the Bears’ 2027 and 2028 first-round picks plus a 2027 fourth-rounder, per ESPN. Those Bears picks are Titans picks now. Every Chicago loss pushes them higher.
The catch? The Bears are 5-2, and they just added one of the best interior defenders in football. A 5-2 team that keeps winning picks late in the round. So the rooting interest is real: you want Simmons to play great and Chicago to lose anyway. Good luck with that one.
Then there’s the Titans’ own pick. At 1-6, only the winless Chargers have a worse record in the NFL. I’m not telling anybody to root for losses in their own stadium. I’m saying a lot of you already know which way you’re leaning.
This weekend gives you a chance to practice both. The Titans are at Cincinnati on Sunday at noon Central on CBS. The Bears visit Seattle on Monday night at 7:15 on ESPN. Perfect weekend for a Titans fan in 2026: a moral victory in Cincinnati and a Seahawks win on Monday.
So which is it, Faders: are you cheering against the Bears? Tell me on X or Instagram at @fiveandafade.
