Titans fans have one word for the Jeffery Simmons trade, and it isn’t “rebuild.” It’s “typical.”
Tennessee sent Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick to Chicago for the Bears’ 2027 first-round pick, their 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fourth-rounder. Add the Titans’ own picks and they now hold two first-rounders in 2027 and two more in 2028. At 1-6, their own 2027 pick sits near the top of the draft order right now.
That’s a lot of ammunition. The problem is what fans keep saying in every reply: the picks don’t matter if you can’t draft.
They have receipts. The last time Tennessee traded a star for a first-round pick, it sent A.J. Brown to Philadelphia and used the No. 18 pick on Treylon Burks. Before that, Isaiah Wilson and Caleb Farley were both first-round picks that didn’t pan out in Nashville.
Here’s the deal: four first-rounders in two drafts, a new dome opening in 2027 and a different front office than the one that made those picks. No more excuses. Hit on these, or this trade was a going-out-of-business sale.
