The NFL rushing race is down to 3 yards: Bijan Robinson has 704 for Atlanta, and Kenneth Walker III has 701 for Kansas City. Walker has done it in one fewer game.
The top five
- Bijan Robinson, Falcons: 704 yards (131 carries, 5.4 a carry, 4 TD, 7 games)
- Kenneth Walker III, Chiefs: 701 yards (120 carries, 5.8 a carry, 6 TD, 6 games)
- James Cook III, Bills: 627
- Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions: 620
- Jonathan Taylor, Colts: 587
Our pick for the rushing title: Walker. He’s averaging 116.8 yards a game to Robinson’s 100.6, he’s better per carry, and the Chiefs have already had their bye, so Kansas City has 11 games left to Atlanta’s 10.
The case against? Seattle held him to 36 yards on 14 carries Sunday night, so he’s not bulletproof. And Bijan does more than run: 25 catches for 203 yards on top of his 704. If this were an “all-purpose” award, we’d flip.
Week 8 tells us plenty. Walker and the Chiefs (5-1) go to Denver (5-2). Robinson and the Falcons (3-4) go to Tampa Bay (2-5).
